A Jewelry Appraisal is the process of determining the value of jewelry

What are the 3 main types of Appraisals?

  • Fair Market Valuation

What is included in these appraisals?

Valuation and Signature of a Professional Appraiser

Why do you have to pay for Appraisals?

You are paying for a service from someone who has training and experience.  The price depends on how complicated and large the gemstones are and should be based on an hourly rate not a percentage of value. Hourly rates range from $65-$150.

How do I make an appointment?

An advantage at Table Rock Jewelry Appraisals is that you can always have a while-you wait appointment. Most jewelry stores make you wait a couple weeks and you cannot watch the appraiser at work. We go through your jewelry helping you identify what is costume, what is the condition of your pieces, which should have a full appraisal or the less detailed low value appraisal. We then help you decide what pieces are worth gifting or trading in for money. Since gold is at record breaking levels most of our clients pay for their appraisals by trading in unwanted gold jewelry.

Gold is at record breaking highs!!

We highly value your time and strive to provide a secure, enjoyable experience to each one of our customers. When we buy gold and other precious metals, we deliver friendly customer service and quick gold evaluations to ensure you receive your cash immediately. In addition to buying gold, we buy silver, antique jewelry, designer jewelry, silverware and service sets and coins!

As gold buyers, we follow a simple process for buying gold from customers.

1. Bring your gold and other precious metals to our secure office, and we will sort through and classify the gold according to its type.

2. In cases where the gold type is unknown, our GIA-certified gemologist will determine the gold type by running a quick on-the-spot test.

3. Once the gold type is determined, we’ll weigh your gold pieces in front of you and make a fair offer. If you choose to accept the offer we provide, you will receive your money immediately.

4. We do not buy diamonds or gemstones. For most jewelry with small gemstones we pay you the gold weight value for them. We can remove larger gemstones for you to keep.

5. We do not repair jewelry but will give you referrals.

How to tell Gold Type

Inside a ring there is usually a stamp of 10kt,14kt, 18kt or 417, 585, 750. 925 for Sterling Silver.  The stamp is next to the clasp on chains, bracelets and necklaces.

If there is a GF (gold filled) stamp with a number (1/20GF) it is costume jewelry.

The easiest way to tell costume jewelry is to use a strong magnet.

As a Professional Appraiser we can evaluate your items to decide what is worth appraising and if repairs are needed.

You can also use your old, wornout, unloved precious metal jewelry to pay for the insurance appraisals on the rest of your valuable jewelry.

Experience Matters.

Introducing Table Rock Jewelry Appraisals!

John and Jenny retired to Table Rock Lake in 2020 after selling their successful jewelry store. They owned and operated Jewelry by Designs, in Woodbridge, VA, for 30 years. Their store was accepted into the American Gem Society.

John is a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate, Master Jeweler and an American Gem Society (AGS) Certified Jewelry Appraiser.

Jenny managed the store including repairs, custom jewelry design, appraisals and scrap gold buying.

In 2023 they opened Table Rock Jewelry Appraisals in Branson West when realizing there was no one doing appraisals in the Table Rock Lake area anymore. Since they brought the appraisal equipment with them they easily began solving this problem by opening Table Rock Jewelry Appraisals.

You no longer have to drive an hour to leave your valuable pieces for a couple weeks to be appraised in Springfield!
